FARGO (KFGO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is adding an additional less-lethal use of force option soon. Deputies have started to train with the Bola Remote Restraint Wrap system.
The Bola Wrap discharges an 8-foot Kevlar tether that entangles a person with minimal force. The system can assist an officer by safely taking a person into custody with little chance that they could hurt themselves or others.
The department has purchased three Bola Wrap systems and is establishing guidelines and procedures to cover their use.
They will be used by both field deputies and jail staff.
